Calves born in 2011 have been sired by Haven Ernest, Laxfield Sir John and Gomer Fandango. We have recently purchased Auckvale Gameplan.
Our aim is to produce well constructed cattle with the dams averaging 700kg which produce fit, healthy calves achieving EBV's in the top 20% off a forage based diet.
Our consideration of EBVs and our commitment to the Hi-Health Herdcare Scheme (formerly Biobest) have helped us approach this goal and have proved extremely effective. We started to record EMA, IMF and Rib Fat with the aid of the Hereford Cattle Society in 2010 and this will improve the accuracy of our EBV figures in the long term.
